"Working with Michael was an absolute pleasure. He is easy to deal with and goes above and beyond to deliver on all he promises and so much more. He exceeded our expectations on so many levels.

"Michael’s tagline; the average presenter informs, the good presenter persuades and the great presenter inspires…Is what he truly lives by. He took some average presenters and made them great and some good and great presenters and made them outstanding.

"I have never been in a program where so many people had such profound shifts and such enormous learning.

"Michael’s greatest ability is to change peoples’ behaviors in hours. He is a true master at non-verbal communication and group dynamics. He has changed the way I think and look at communication.

"He is a world-class presenter, facilitator and coach with an endless well of knowledge and wisdom to impart…a true master of his craft."

Course Objectives:

The non-verbal communication skills offered in this training will positively influence the single most powerful point in education—the teacher-student relationship.

Teachers who systematically utilize the full range of non-verbal management skills are able to reinforce consistent and fair parameters while preserving their relationships with each student, regardless of unique learning styles or cultural backgrounds.

Expected outcomes include fewer disciplinary incidents, improved student attendance, higher student grades, higher staff morale, and a lower level of staff burn-out.

ENVoY is a vehicle to shift educators from seeing themselves as Bastions of Power to Instruments of Influence.

Topics of Study are: The four times teachers most often use management techniques

Why non-verbal messages are more effective in classroom management than verbal messages

Recognizing and responding to the various learning styles of students

Disciplining for student needs rather than for teacher needs

Establishing and preserving relationships of influence

Why ENVoY?

Professional strength

This program, when used by cadres of instructors within a school, brings out the professional strengths of all the members involved.

Wealth in our classrooms!

We need to elevate ourselves from within. . . we need systems which enable us to profit from the wealth of abilities that lie in insular classrooms. Sharing our collective wisdom It is only through sharing and supporting processes that the collective wisdom of the staff emerges.

Who is the the program for?
Teachers at all levels. The classroom can be viewed with educational binoculars. The primary tube focuses on curriculum. ENVoY is the management tube which supports the learning.

The ENVoY series is based on Michael Grinder’s best-selling books for educators, widely used in the U.S., Europe, Australia, Asia and Latin America. The seminars and book ENVoY, are powerful whether you are teaching in K-12 or adult education.

The principles of non-verbal management can also help parents and anyone who works with children maintain positive relationships with young people while respectfully adhering to high standards for behavior.

One teacher who has been through the training recently summarized this point:

"Before the students care what you know, they need to know that you care."

Effective Charismatic Leadership Certification 2009

Transform yourself into THE leader others want to follow with this 6-day course with Michael Grinder

Some people can just walk in a room and exude charisma. I never had that innate ability. So I wanted to figure out how the rest of us who don’t have it naturally, actually develop it. This is what this course is about.

Successful, charismatic leaders have a deep understanding of the individual, and group behaviors of both leaders and followers. To enable you to gain that understanding and succeed as a charismatic leader, Michael Grinder and Associates’ Effective Charismatic Leadership Program provides you with an in-depth understanding of both leaders and followers while preparing you to apply what you learn to both your personal and professional worlds.

The Effective Charismatic Leadership Program is practical and relevant for aspiring or existing leaders in any profession. As you move through the program, you will track your learning in your Development Portfolio, prompting significant change and growth as you become more deeply aware of your individual leadership style and options you have. This course provides the behaviors and style of charisma; you have to develop character and values on your own. Since non-verbals comprise 80% of what communication, we will study and practice the full range of non-verbal behaviors and develop your personal charismatic style.

This is a 6-day training, in two 3-day segments over two months. You have the option of being certified. You don’t have to do the certification requirements to attend. The first segment is October 16-18. The training continues with the second segment, December 11-13, 2009. The training will be held at Homewood Suites, 701 SE Columbia Shores Blvd. Vancouver, Washington USA 98661

For more details on Effective Charismatic Leadership

Change the way you see the world with the 6-day Perception Camp October 19-21 and December 14-16, 2009

If you can see half of what you look at —you are brilliant.
If you know which half —you are a genius.

Once you have learned Michael’s “HOW” of non-verbal communication, it’s all about the artistic level of timing and "permission." Perceptual Training Camp is different than anything you’ve ever been to, including Michael’s trainings. It’s the class for the NEXT LEVEL—the artistic level!

Being artistic (exceptional) means using your perception and thinking skills beyond the way many of us are trained to observe and understand now. In this peak performance training camp, you’ll learn critical perception and thinking skills that can help improve your results in several areas of life.

You will:

Learn how to recognize behaviors and the beliefs behind those behaviors.

Predict who is likely to dominate when two people are interacting.

Know ahead of time what is likely to happen next in a group setting.

Get instant feedback and coaching from Michael!

Develop the refinements of timing and permission that are critical to taking your work in non-verbal communication to the Artist level.

Bond and network closely with the other like minded attendees. (Just wait until you experience the accelerated learning a group like this produces.)

Understanding NON-VERBALS Is the Single Most Important Asset for YOUR Bottom Line. Imagine being even more proactive than you are now.

Prerequisite:
Either be a graduate of Michael Grinder’s Group Wizardry or Group Mastery or pass an online Q & A quiz on the Pentimento

Format of the workshop
Most of us are familiar with Michael’s training format that includes animated demonstrations and presentation with learning done via role-play. This is different, though. It is not a Michael Grinder training. THIS IS A CAMP.

This is a 6-day training, in two 3-day segments over two months. Beginning October 16-18 and continuing December 14-16, 2009 this camp follows each segment of Effective Charismatic Leadership Certification.

A graduate of Michael Grinder’s UK’s Group Mastery program, Helen Oakwater, an adoptive parent, NLP Coach and Trainer, adopted a pre-school sibling group in the early 1990s and has first-hand knowledge of living with ‘the child who hurts’.

Her knowledge and perspectives are borne from her own personal journey, membership of adoption panels, books, numerous training courses and other adopters. Here she looks at the needs of both parents and our children and why knowing our values can help us to a better understanding of ourselves.

WHAT do you need right now . . .

A cuppa, a hug, acknowledgement, dignity, a toilet, self-respect, grounding, fulfilment, warm socks, protection, importance or . . ? We all have needs which we strive to meet, sometimes consciously; popping to the bathroom is a conscious act.

Sometimes the need is satisfied outside of our conscious awareness. Maybe you prefer to sit with your back to the wall in a restaurant, because, at an unconscious level, it feels safer.

We adopted our children to fulfill our own personal needs. Even though our individual motivations may have varied, we all felt something was missing from our lives.

A need was not met and we strove to attain it.

What do all humans need? You, me, our children – everyone is driven to fulfill unmet human need. It’s what motivates us and drives our behaviour, every second of the day, every day of the week.

By understanding our own needs and those of our children we gain another perspective on the extraordinary task of parenting traumatised children. This article includes two theoretical models to help make sense of our feelings and the often apparently nonsensical behaviour of our children. Remember – children’s behaviour is their vocabulary – as adults we must learn to understand and interpret it.

What a great interview today on Beyond Lip Service with Sharon Sayler.

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to it you are really missing something. We discussed:

What is perception and when we can trust our instincts?

How to improve our perceptions

How to interpret our perceptions

and the 4 levels of perception; each has a unique outcome or purpose for observing.

There’s a very good reason why people don’t listen to you,
Why you can’t seem to effectively lead others no matter how hard you try…

Here Is How Non-Verbal Communication Works For Thousands of Managers,
Sales People, and Business Professionals

Here is the blunt truth about effective communication, and one remarkable,
seminar series that will actually turn you into a master persuader.

By Charles Damerell

There is a complete approach to effective communication that really works. That’s why I am so deeply concerned when I see people who honestly want to lead a successful team of colleagues, be more charismatic and persuasive, but are then bitterly disappointed by their total lack of results….

Half-truths and misinformation are everywhere. I want to clear up the ambiguity once and for all and present the hard facts about effective communication that will make you more charismatic, effective, and admired …!

If you’ve tried to be a leader among your colleagues and have still been unable to gain their respect, it’s probably NOT YOUR FAULT. In fact, there are several very real reasons why this has happened to you – why speeches and pep talks have been doomed to failure right from the start.

I promise you, YOU CAN BE THE EFFECTIVE, ADMIRED LEADER YOU WANT TO BE, almost immediately, and with dramatic improvement in your workplace, without manipulation, bullying, painful disagreements, and frustration.

What I see in the reasons why leaders and managers fail to be effective communicators can be grouped into three categories:

One: The Intimidating And The Steel-Fisted.

Many team leaders and managers adopt the philosophy of “Do it my way, or you’re fired.” This strong-arm way of managing people may temporarily get them to do what you want, but you destroy morale and damage productivity (and often people walk out) – because nobody likes to work in an intimidating environment.

And many of them may actually seek to sabotage your success if you push them too hard, because they can develop an intense dislike for you and work towards your personal failure.

Two: The Weak and Non-Confrontational.

Managers that let their colleagues walk all over them, intimidate them, ignore instruction, cause dissent and apathy in the office, and generally do whatever they want, simply are not effective leaders because they allow a culture of laziness and disrespect to infect everyone else, dragging the whole business down. They are NOT true leaders.

Three: The Completely Invisible.

Look, we would all like to wave a magic wand and wish all the office problems away, while we melt into the safety of our private offices, and still reap all the rewards, praise and accolades of an efficient and profitable department without conflict.

Unfortunately, effective leaders and managers can’t hide and “hope it all goes away.” But there’s an even bigger problem than trying to be invisible, and that’s thinking that you are saying one thing to people… when in fact you’re saying something completely different.

Which has more power in communication?
— Your words or your eyes?

Listen, the words you choose to use matter. They convey information in a way that people can then make a decision on what to do next. What most people don’t realize however is that where you look while delivering the information speaks volumes to your listener. Most people have no idea that they are actually “misusing” their eyes when they communicate, causing a completely different message to be “heard” by their listeners.

Are You Ready For Simple, Highly-Effective, Communication Techniques That Really Work, Based On A Sound Behavioural Model?

PICTURE YOURSELF – enjoying the satisfaction of having your colleagues listen to and follow your every word…. the same people who would have ignored you if you screamed “Fire!” The same people who, privately, think you’re a “weak leader” with “no vision”. Now they see a new, confident, charismatic you, who commands respect and attention, and they are amazed and maybe even jealous.

IMAGINE YOURSELF actually eager to enter the boardroom to deliver a major presentation or confidently meet with your most important client or lead your team to new heights in productivity. IMAGINE yourself commanding the attention of a rapt audience and drinking in the praise and recognition you receive! THE PERSUASIVE CHARISMA THAT HAS ELUDED YOU IN THE PAST CAN FINALLY BE “REAL” FOR YOU.

3 Myths That Sabotage Good Communication

Myth #1: Communication Is A One-Way Street

First, simply “lecturing” people without “listening” to their reactions cannot work for you, because people are always communicating with you, giving you feedback, whether they are speaking or not. The only way to truly understand people and effectively persuade them is to learn to recognize the subtle non-verbal communication that’s taking place.

Myth #2: The Message You Send Is The Message Received

Second, just because you think you’re saying something doesn’t mean that’s what people are hearing. Instead, you need to understand the secrets of delivering a perfect message every time by using verbal and non-verbal communication.

Myth #3: Real Meaning Is In The Words

Third, because the real meaning of what is being communicated is found in the tone, posture, gesture, gaze, and breathing, you could be completely misunderstanding what people are actually saying, while you are likely being misunderstood. But the good news is we have a system to quickly help you with all three of these “communication saboteurs”. And More!

Have you ever wondered, as I have, why some work colleagues get promoted over others, or why their ideas are more readily accepted, even when we may have voiced the same idea in a meeting 15 minutes before they did?

So, how do these people get recognised so quickly and be taken so seriously? The answer is that these people have mastered non-verbal communications.
